If you take just 10 minutes to search the Internet and I mean anywhere on the Internet for Byron healthcare you'll see the massive overwhelming bad reviews, one star ratings and people ranting about how they are dysfunctional. I think the worst part is they are all basically complaining about the same thing
They are ruining the quality of people's lives, stressing them out and leaving them high and dry without supplies. All while having an attitude with you over the phone.
Why is Byram Health Care still in business? How many times do I have to provide the information requested to get our Dexcom supplies for our 9-year-old son? It has been 4 weeks of back and forth providing the requested information. Here we are on another Friday and must wait for another preauthorization form insurance that won’t come in until Monday of next week. We have already been told this has been done twice in the past 4 weeks. One day they need doctor notes, the next day they need a prescription, then reauthorization form Insurance. Then they cancel the order and want all the information from the Doctors office again. The worst part is each department can’t communicate with each other. For instance Customer Service can’t contact Shipping or the Insurance Pre-authorization department. All they can do is just read the notes on the screen and give you “I’m sorry Ma’am, we are doing our best to get your order processed as fast as we can. Just a recipe for disaster.
Well, today was the last straw. Here is a timeline for the week I’ve had.
Monday - I called to see what the status was. The representative told me they were still waiting on Dr. Notes and they were faxed to the Dr. Office. But Insurance and prescription we good to go. I immediately called my Dr. Office and they said they sent them over as soon as the request came in. Called Byram back and the rep told me they were still waiting for them to be uploaded in their system. I requested she contact the department where the fax comes in and ask for it to be processed. Was told they can’t do that and they do not have a number for said department. But all should be good tomorrow and the order will be processed for shipment.
Tuesday – I call in the morning and they are still waiting on Dr. Notes. I request a manager. Manager get on the phone and confirms they do have everything they need and he will release the order for urgent shipment.
Thursday - I log in to my online account and see that the order was cancelled. By this point I am livid. Call Byram and they tell me after looking at the account they need Doctor Notes and prescription AGAIN!! By the way, this will be the 3rd time our doctor will send requested documents. The supervisor I spoke with the day before is not available. So here we go again, back to square 1. Immediately call the doctor and while I was on the phone, she send the documents again.
Friday – Call Byram again (Probably the 15th time in 4 weeks) to be told they have the Dr. Notes but still need the Prescription. I know the prescription was sent. I ask that they contact the department that receives the fax to double check it wasn’t human error and just missed. I was told he could see the files uploaded and the prescription wasn’t there. He has no way to contact that specific department but they definitely didn’t receive it. I kept pushing him. I asked him if he looked at the file that was uploaded to see if maybe the prescription was mixed in with the other documents. He places me on hold to look. Comes back to tell me he was sorry, but they did get the prescription and the file was just labeled wrong. OMG, why is this so HARD!!!
Well guess what, now he says, “We have to resend it back to insurance for approval”. Since it’s a Friday, it will not be approved for shipping until Monday. But assured me this time will be different and has requested expedited shipping for me. Like I haven’t heard that line many times this past 4 weeks. I’m sure when I call back on Monday I will have some new hurdle to cross.
I have never had such poor service in my life from a medical supply company that supplies lifesaving medical equipment. Byram Healthcare should be held accountable for all of the lives they are disrupting.
A sleep deprived mom
Medicare states that one can obtain a replacement continuous glucose monitor if one's monitor is lost or stolen. They refused to do this for me, even when I complied with all of Medicare's requirements.
