Anytime Fitness was founded in 2002 in Woodbury, Minnesota by Chuck Runyon, Dave Mortensen and Jeff Klinger. By 2005, the founders had opened 77 clubs. Some of the clubs were located outside the United States. The fitness franchise continues to grow by leaps and bounds. It currently has over 3,000 fitness centers located in all 50 states, Malaysia, Mexico, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, India, Spain, Qatar, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Grand Cayman, Australia, the Philippines and Singapore.

Anytime Fitness is a wonderful fitness center for seniors because it is conveniently open 24/7/365. It has a wide array of cardio and exercise equipment to fit every skill level. After purchasing a membership, the senior is given a free fitness assessment that lets them know the areas they need to work on, and a full plan is outlined of how to achieve their fitness goals.

Membership also includes access to a wide array of exercise classes such as Zumba, yoga, spinning, cardio and body conditioning. Seniors can also opt to work one-on-one with a personal fitness trainer. Anytime Fitness also works with health insurance companies such as Medicare to help pay for membership using the Silver Sneakers program.
