MaidPro works with you to build a house cleaning plan to fit your needs and budget. The cost of the cleaning service is based on the size and condition of your home, as well as the frequency of service. Each maid is required to complete the training at MaidPro University to deliver a thorough and spotless clean based on MaidPro’s 49-point checklist. MaidPro house cleaning service comes with insurance for lost or broken items, so seniors do not have to worry about their items being lost or stolen. MaidPro uses rags which collect dust and allergens better than paper towels, as well as vacuum cleaners that are low-VOC, which may be a good option for seniors with respiratory issues. Seniors who do not have time or energy to clean and are seeking an eco-friendly and allergen-free cleaning service may benefit from MaidPro.

Seniors are good candidates for house cleaning services because they often do not have time to clean due to conflicting demands or health issues, which leads to clutter and potentially dangerous situations. MaidPro offers a variety of customizable cleaning services, which could be great for a senior who needs a quick house cleaning before a special occasion, or a senior whose house requires a thorough housecleaning a couple of times a month. MaidPro is good for seniors of all ages.

MaidPro cleaning services are ideal for seniors of any health status, including for seniors of fair or poor health who may no longer be able to clean the house. Eyesight, mobility and cognitive problems can lead to a messy home environment which can result in potential dangers for a senior and further limit their quality of life. MaidPro uses reusable towels which collect dust and allergens better than paper towels. Seniors with allergies or respiratory issues may benefit from such a practice. Like other similar services, MaidPro can keep the customer’s key on file so that the senior does not have to be home for house cleanings. Seniors in fair or poor health who have frequent doctor’s visits may appreciate this feature. The most challenging aspect of the service for individuals with poor health will be communicating with the cleaning service, e.g., to cancel or reschedule cleaning on holidays in time to avoid excess charges.

Pros:

  • MaidPro offers a 49-point cleaning checklist, with other options available by request, making it a good choice for seniors who need a thorough house cleaning service.
  • MaidPro also offers a Priority Clean option that allows customers to select the areas of the home they want to have cleaned.
  • MaidPro does offer a 100-percent satisfaction guarantee; customers who are not satisfied with the quality of services can call MaidPro within 24 hours to request a re-cleaning at no additional cost.
  • All Maids have been trained at MaidPro University to ensure a high level of service.
  • MaidPro offers a contract-free service: house cleaning can be on a regular basis or one-time-only.
  • MaidPro uses reusable cleaning tools, tries to groups home visits together by geography and uses eco-friendly cleaning products to ensure the company’s cleaning practices are environmentally sustainable.

Cons:

  • MaidPro does not offer standard pricing but instead relies on the customer obtaining an individual quote from the company. This can be problematic for seniors who are looking for an inexpensive cleaning service with a simple price structure.
  • MaidPro does not offer service on holidays, and cleanings scheduled for holidays will be rescheduled for a different day. That process may be difficult for older seniors.
  • Because service depends on the quality of the local franchisee, online reviews cannot be considered representative so customers need to vet the local operation.

Bottom Line:

MaidPro cleans according to a 49-point checklist that ensures a detailed house cleaning; however, the company also offers a Priority Clean option that allows customers to select the areas of the home they want to have cleaned. MaidPro can accommodate special requests such as the replacement of bed linens and dishwashing. Instead of offering various house cleaning packages, MaidPro provides quotes for individual customers. MaidPro believes in being environmentally responsible and uses reusable bottles, buckets and bags, as well as safe, effective and responsible cleaning products. MaidPro has been recognized by Owler, a competitive intelligence platform, as one of the world’s most popular, top-trending companies for 2016. MaidPro is a good option for seniors looking for an eco-friendly, customizable and thorough maid service for either one-time or regular cleanings.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you always send the same cleaning team to my house?  MaidPro housecleaners, or PROs, work in groups of one or two. MaidPro tries to send the same cleaning PRO to your house for each visit; sometimes that is not possible, so a replacement PRO will be sent who has also undergone extensive training in house cleaning.

Do I need to be home for the cleaning service to occur? It’s your choice. Most MaidPro customers leave a key at the MaidPro office. That key is kept in a safe and is encoded with a serial number so that your name and address are never written on the key. If you do not wish to leave a key with MaidPro, you can meet your PRO at your house. However, the time window is about 4 hours, so you may have to wait for some time for your PRO to show up. This could prove difficult for some seniors who have family and medical obligations. If neither of those options is possible, you can call your local MaidPro office to work out different arrangements.

What qualifications do the maids have? All maids attend MaidPro University and undergo a formal review with a trainer before they can be called a cleaning PRO.

Package Details: Rather than offer packages of house cleaning services, MaidPro instead offers the standard 49-point house cleaning checklist, which forms the basis of all of MaidPro’s house cleaning services. Potential customers are instructed to call MaidPro for an estimate because each home is different and requires different services.

MaidPro offers a quote on their website.  Prices may vary based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and your house’s location.

Add-on Services: MaidPro can dust window blinds, appliance interiors and wash dishes upon request. Customers can contact MaidPro to inquire about additional services to be added to their house cleaning service.

Additional Company Details

Contract Details: Canceling a scheduled cleaning service requires notice of at least two business days. If service is not canceled or if MaidPro cannot access the customer’s home, the customer will be charged the full price for that day’s service.

Customers must contact their local MaidPro office to change services or cleaning schedules.  Cancellation of regularly scheduled cleanings must be requested in writing. Recurring cleaning service is discounted, so if you choose to cancel a recurring service after one cleaning session, you may be charged the regular One-Time Cleaning price.

MaidPro accepts the following payment methods: MasterCard, Visa, cash or check.  A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.

Warranty: MaidPro does not offer refunds, but if a customer is not satisfied with the cleaning service, the company will re-clean any area if the customer contacts Customer Service within 24 hours of the unsatisfactory cleaning.

Accreditations: MaidPro, Inc.’s corporate office has not received accreditation by the Better Business Bureau, but several of its franchise operations are BBB-accredited. The BBB rating of local franchises should be checked on the Better Business Bureau website.

Company Details: MaidPro was founded by Mark Kushinsky in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. Kushinsky, who scheduled various home cleanings with local house cleaning companies, was disappointed with the poor quality and high cost of the available cleaning services in his neighborhood. He started MaidPro in 1991, and the company launched MaidPro University, its maid training service, in 1993. Today, the company operates in over 200 locations and has cleaned over 750,000 homes. MaidPro’s company mission, as stated on the MaidPro website, is to “clean up North America.”  MaidPro partners with Proctor & Gamble to use the best cleaning supplies, a collaboration that started in 2003.
