eHarmony, while on the pricier side, relies on powerful matching algorithms and is an excellent choice for seniors who seek to date within a specific category of people.

eHarmony prides itself on its complicated matching system, which requires users to submit responses to questions regarding themselves and what they are seeking in a partner. The website has a dedicated section for seniors, which includes dating advice. eHarmony only provides matches based on user input; it is not possible for users to email each other out of the blue. This improves the likelihood that matches will share common traits and interests.

eHarmony has 24/7 user support by email, and a dedicated phone support line during weekday business hours and on Saturdays.eHarmony does not offer matching services for gay/lesbian seniors through its website, but offers these services through Compatible Partners, a separate online service.

Positive Reviews of eHarmony:

You can really find a match!

Such a simple and effective website to use. Though it asks you A LOT of questions when you get started, they are so worth it because it gives you a good indication of how compatible you may be with a prospective partner. In my case, it was very accurate! I truly met my other half who I scored quite high with on the compatibility score and if it weren’t for eharmony, we never would have crossed paths as we live in different cities very far apart. We met in 2021, dated for two years and are now engaged planning our destination wedding for Spring 2024.
The website also felt very safe. There’s a video call function on the website so you don’t have to share any personal social media accounts or phone numbers straight away to get to see or speak to someone initially. It has an ‘ice-breaker’ function in chats to get conversations going and it’s a modern interface which looks appealing and easy to use. I had no issues with the site and app, I highly recommend it and I’m very grateful for it to have found my life partner!♥️

Newbie

I’m very new to eharmony (less than a week in). I’m not usually an online dating kinda gal but I thought I’d give it a whirl so here I am.
Im enjoying my journey very much, I’ve spoken to an array of men. Much like in the real world there’s a variety of individuals, I much prefer this way of dating. It’s safer, I feel more in control.

The customer service is incredible & quick to respond. The matches at eharmony give you a better chance to strike up a connection if you so choose, my experience so far has been incredible.

I have written to eharmony before I am not happy.

I have written to eharmony as it does state in there small sized print about if you have ended there services with in 14 days you are entitled for a full refund. I did not get a full refund especially when I tried to get technical support of which I did not receive as I wished to end my membership and subscription of which I was having trouble with as I am not a computer expert of which they were all dated on their site the Customer Care Team did not even help even when I mentioned my troubles of which were all dated. So obviously I tried to get out and I did not get any joy from those departments technical support, Customer Care Team, eharmony dragging their feet if someone wishes to quit, maybe they drag their feet So their Customers try to go OVER the 14days COOLING OFF PERIOD, Perhaps in my mind.
Eharmony decent staff members please help ME as you are very SLOW in trying to HELP their CUSTOMERS.

Negative Reviews of eHarmony:

Not what it seems as advertised

I have been using the site now for 3 weeks and I’m just not impressed..the location settings do not accurately list where people live, it reports the suburb, not the town which is completely basic info for all users you have to guess the suburb location in a separate map app or check elsewhere..terrible database lookup design. This Needs immediate correction to me.

I also am finding the tail seems to be wagging the dog. You cannot change your search criteria once you’ve filled in your online profile. You cannot reset all your filters and search as a wild card. EHarmony uses its AI to automatically match you. You have to select from its matches. It is not the other way round. You are not in control of who you see, you can only adjust ages, miles and children – This isn’t good enough at all- if you go outside your parameters you end up with little to no matches. I want to choose from one end of the spectrum to the other, not you’re servers matching me job lot!!! Pointless .. I’d do my research before subscribing to this site

Just be polite please

The idea of a harmony is a good one The one downfall with it if you are messaging someone messaging someone and they decide you are not compatible they just read it and leave it surely it doesn’t take it doesn’t take much to reply say the reply saying that they don’t think you are Compatible. That is surely The polite and understandable way to do it I’m not to do it and not just leave it. Security is obviously understandable it doesn’t take a lot to be polite.

So far I am not impressed, disappointingly concerned

So far I am not impressed so seriously thinking now this was a bad idea, hope I can cancel with minimum fuss and cost, a moment of curiosity and stupidity, drawn in by impressive computer pop up advertising, legally I hope this can be resolved amicably but wondering if these are false profiles and will do some further research on this subject on what I get the impression are either actors, fake avatars or possibly in it to scam vulnerable people for what ever reason purpose or hidden agenda

eHarmony, as a web-based service, is not particularly oriented to seniors, nor is it necessarily a senior-friendly service. The signup process involves many steps, and seniors may encounter difficulties, particularly if they are not familiar with using a computer or navigating the internet.  However, it is not difficult for a senior to learn how to upload a photo or view and contact matches.

As a dating website, eHarmony is senior-friendly in that younger seniors with more energy and mobility to go on dates may benefit from the service due to the compatibility matching involved. Rather than rely on users filtering match results themselves, eHarmony asks each user a series of questions regarding match compatibility, and only provides users with potential matches. The fact that eHarmony only presents users with compatible matches may make this website easier for seniors to use.

Pros:

  • eHarmony enables users to identify matches by characteristics including religion, ethnic community, location, and age, making the website an excellent choice for seniors who are picky about the people they date.
  • eHarmony’s 29 Dimensions of Compatibility matching system is comprehensive and requires users to answer questions such as “must haves” and “can’t stands” in a potential date. The website only displays matches once the user has completed these questions, which ensures that users can only correspond with potential matches.
  • The eHarmony website is a great source of information on dating and contains a large dating advice section, including a section on dating advice for seniors.
  • Approximately 14% of eHarmony’s 2,300,000 monthly users are over the age of 55, making the site a popular choice for seniors.
  • eHarmony’s customer support staff is available by email 24/7,and by phone during business hours Monday-Saturday.

Cons:

  • eHarmony only matches users with singles who match the user’s profile and does not allow users to search for matches on their own. This may be a deterrent to some seniors.
  • eHarmony, as an internet-based dating service, may pose a challenge to seniors who are not familiar with the basics of navigating the website, such as signing up for the service, uploading a photo, answering questions about their personality and desired traits in a match, and corresponding with matches.
  • eHarmony does not have a free option, which makes this dating service more expensive than others.
  • eHarmony does not offer same-sex matching through its website but does offer same-sex matching through a separate service called Compatible Partners.

Bottom Line:

eHarmony offers dating services for adults of all ages, including seniors. eHarmony’s 29 Dimensions of Compatibility test and matching algorithms ensure that seniors are paired with others of the same age range who are compatible with their personality and interests. eHarmony does not offer a free option, and instead has two tiers of paid subscriptions which enable users to connect with matches. The company is highly rated by the Dating Sites Reviews Awards, and has been an annual recipient of the Singles’ Choice Award and Editor’s Pick Top Pick Match System Award annually since 2008. For seniors seeking a dating website which enables users to be more picky, eHarmony is a good choice.
